Under the theme “Building the Belt and Road, Strengthening Digital Economy Cooperation,” the 17th CAEXPO demonstrated the outcomes of ASEAN-China joint efforts to combat COVID-19. It also deepened all-round ASEAN-China relations and economic cooperation in various fields and achieved a safe, orderly, high-level and distinctive CAEXPO. This year, CAEXPO also marked the 10th anniversary of the full establishment of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area and the Year of ASEAN-China Digital Economy Cooperation. In their video speeches, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Leaders of seven ASEAN Member States (AMS) and the Secretary-General of ASEAN Dato Lim Jock Hoi spoke of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership as one of the most dynamic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific. Moreover, the Leaders commended the fruitful results of ASEAN-China’s cooperation in recent years and expressed their firm resolve in strengthening economic cooperation,  jointly upholding the multilateral trading system, working together to fight the pandemic, and accelerating the recovery of the regional economy. Ten high-level forums took place within the framework of this year’s CAEXPO, which included the 10th Anniversary Forum on the Full Establishment of ASEAN-China Free Trade Area and ASEAN-China Business Leaders Forum, among others. The CAEXPO showcased new business opportunities and promoted economic and trade cooperation. The online CAEXPO was launched this year and featured 1,956 exhibitors, achieving full coverage and all-channel marketing promotion of exhibitors online. Meanwhile, 1668 exhibitors from China, ASEAN Member States and 22 other countries attended the physical exhibition. After CAEXPO’s current session, the online CAEXPO will continue to run all year round.
