ASEAN-China Youth Forum of the Future China Global Forum 2020 Was Held

    On 15 September 2020, ASEAN-China Youth Forum of the Future China Global Forum 2020 was been held. On behalf of ACC, Ms. Wang from ASEAN-China Center shared her views on issues such as the impacts of COVID-19 on the region, the opportunities and challenges for promoting ASEAN-China cooperation in the post-pandemic era, and put forward suggestions on what role that young people could play. On the same day, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister for Finance of Singapore delivered an opening speech on the Future China Global Forum 2020. Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore, Mr. Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State of Ministry of Health of Singapore attended the forum, along with 500 participants of

    government officials, entrepreneurs, academics, media representatives, youth and university students from ASEAN countries, China, Europe and America. The Future China Global Forum (FCGF) was inaugurated by Singapore’s late Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It is an international platform for exchanges among political, industrial, commercial, academic and research sectors, and has been successfully held for ten sessions so far. The theme for this year’s forum is “A Resilient Future: Post-Pandemic Transformation & Opportunities in China and ASEAN” and was held virtually for the first time. The youth sub-forum is co-organized by the FCGF organizers and Tsinghua University Student Association of Belt and Road Initiative (SABRI).
