On October 14, 2020, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Chinese President Bounnhang Bounnhang met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi who was on an official visit to Laos in Vientiane. Wang Yi conveyed cordial greetings from General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Xi Jinping to Bounnhang.Wang Yi said China is ready to work with Laos to carry on the tradition of friendship, strengthen mutual trust, consolidate solidarity and mutual assistance, advance the goal of building a China-Laos community with a shared future set by the two heads of state, push for in-depth development of relations between the two parties and the two countries and benefit the two peoples.China is willing to continue to strengthen unity and cooperation with Laos to cope  with all difficulties and challenges and unswervingly advance the common ideals and cause of the two countries. Bounhang asked Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Xi Jinping.Bounnahn said Laos would like to make joint efforts with China to push for new progress in cooperation in existing areas, actively expand new areas of cooperation and further enrich the connotation of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Laos and China.Laos will firmly support China in safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests, stand together with China and make unremitting efforts to build a community with a shared future between Laos and China.
